Lauren Light is an Austin based DJ, vibe curator, and moon lover who loves to whip up sonic body butter with unique blends featuring mellow bars, silky lyrics, and an eclectic range of buttery smooth sounds. When the vibe calls for more energy, she turns up to a powerful selection of women artists highlighting tracks with a unique bounce and women-centric lyrics.

She’s called the Bat City home since 2015 and is committed to providing more safe-spaces for black and brown Austinites to vibe. Her life’s work centers on empowering others, amplifying their stories, and increasing their impact on the culture. 

Her pathway continues to shape-shift and evolve as she continues to explore what it means to live authentically. In the present, she’s developing an introductory DJ course for girls that centers on building confidence and further developing key soft skills. As the co-founder of SIS, she’s supporting the launch of an intimate storytelling music showcase series called “SISTEMS” designed to amplify the stories of local talent.

This summer, in addition to her Tuesday night signature set, “BUTTER” at Native Hostel, she’ll feature as the resident DJ for the Drop-In, a free outdoor concert series at The Long Center in collaboration with ACL Radio. If a night of tropical latin dancing is what you prefer, you can catch her at Lulu’s for a Carabuena Tequila infused dance party every 2nd and 4th Thursday.
